Finish (#1)
Most tartan
fabric is woven with two nicely finished edges (kilting selvages).
For these tartans we simply fringe the two cut edges. Some light
weight tartans (Irish tartans and poly/viscose tartans) don't have
finished edges, so we fringe all 4 sides.
Knotted
Finish (#2)
3 to 4 inches
of fringe is knotted for style and to prevent fraying. A great
way to add a bit of class to your plaid.
