Synthetic Blend Tartans

Poly/Viscose Tartan

Whether you are allergic to wool, or just want a great looking tartan for cheap, a synthetic blend is a great way to go! Our Poly/Viscose Tartan is hard wearing, washable, and cool to wear. To the untrained eye it is nearly indistinguishable from expensive 100% wool tartan. What are it's disadvantages? Only that there are just 80 tartans available in this fabulous blend! Because it is cut from the roll and shipped from the UK just for you, tartan yardage is considered a special order item. Please allow 3-6 weeks for delivery.

11oz. Poly/Viscose Tartan

YPV11 – only $30/yd
Twill weave, 60in wide. Woven from a 65/35 blend of polyester and viscose. Note - this tartan does not have kilting selvages, so a hem will be required for kiltmaking. Special-order. Please allow 6-12 weeks for delivery. Just a reminder – tartan is not returnable, so please order a swatch first if you are unsure.

Poly/Wool Tartan

Just can't give up on the sheep entirely, but still have that irresistible urge to save a few bucks? Try a poly/wool blend! It's half the cost of 100% wool, looks and feels almost identical, and is actually more durable. Unfortunately the line is gradually being discontinued, and there are only 10 tartans left available at this time.

Twill weave, 60in wide. Woven from a 55/45 blend of polyester and wool. Note - this tartan does not have kilting selvages, so a hem will be required for kiltmaking. Special-order. Poly/Cotton Tartan

This is a very light fabric suitable for shirts, dresses, projects, and crafts. It has the look and feel of typical poly/cotton blends used in bed sheets, dress shirts, etc. Unfortunately there are only 21 tartans available at this time.
