Premium Wool Tartans

Made from 100% pure new wool, woven in Scotland. This is the same tartan most of you are familiar with, used in modern, tailored, formal kilts. This is your best option if you are looking for a specific tartan, as there are over 500 available. We work with 5 different mills in Scotland to bring you the widest selection possible. All tartans are double width (54-60 inches wide) unless otherwise specified. Because it is cut from the roll and shipped from Scotland just for you, tartan yardage is considered a special order item. Please allow 6-8 weeks for delivery.

7/8oz Spring Weight Premium Wool Tartan
YPW8 – $75/yard  (54 in. wide)
Very light weight, 100% premium wool, woven in Scotland. Woven 54 in. wide (double-width). Too light for kilt making, but nice for crafts, sashes, and other ­accessories. More than 500 tartans to choose from. Special-order. Please allow 6-12 weeks for delivery.

YPW11 – $85/yard  (58-60 in. wide)
(10/11oz.) Light weight, 100% premium wool, woven in Scotland. Woven 59 in. wide. Recommended for ladies' wear, accessories, and light weight kilts. Especially nice for hot weather. More than 500 tartans available. Special-order. Please allow 6-12 weeks for delivery. Just a reminder – tartan is not returnable, so please order a swatch first if you are unsure.

12/13oz Medium Weight Premium Wool Tartan
YPW13 – $95/yard  (54 in. wide)
(12/13oz.) Medium weight 100% premium wool, woven in Scotland. Woven 54 in. wide (double-width). Made specifically for modern style formal or casual kilt making. Medium weight tartan is a good compromise between light and heavy weight tartan. If your tartan is available in medium weight, we recommend it for casual and formal kilts. Also makes nice ancient kilts and phillabegs, but can be heavy when used for great kilts. More than 500 tartans available. Special-order. Please allow 6-12 weeks for delivery.
