Highland Bagpipe Chanter
Reeds
All of our
chanter reeds come pre-tested and packaged individually in a plastic
reed pack. This will protect them from chipping when not in use.
Reeds come in 3 different strengths, soft, medium and hard. Beginners
often go with the soft. Most pipers go with medium. If you like
crushing beer cans on your forehead, go with the hard.

Clanrye
Synthetic Pipe Chanter Reeds
(soft, medium, or hard)
BPR12 $99
The Clanrye is a great choice if you plan to play outdoors in unpredictable
weather conditions. In general, the tone is not as good as cane,
but the stability is worth it if you're not sure about your playing
conditions. It does for the chanter what synthetic reeds have done
for drones. Not a stock item. Please allow 2-3 weeks for delivery.

traditional cane drone reeds are still available, pretty much everyone

Ezeedrone
(EzDrone) Synthetic Drone Reeds
(set of 1 bass and 2 tenor reeds)
BPR20 $159
EzDrone drone reeds are made in Scotland. They are being used by
many of the top pipe bands and solo players today. These are probably
the most widely played drone reeds in the world. They need only
about 5 hours of playing-in time for optimum tone.

 |
Shepherd
Synthetic Drone Reeds (old style)
(set of 1 bass and 2 tenor reeds)
BPR23 $79
One of the very first all-plastic drone reeds, the Shepherd synthetic
reed was revolutionary when it was introduced. This reed offers
a nice lower priced alternative if you do not play too often, but
want the ease of synthetic drone reeds. These do not require any
playing-in time. Tongues are replaceable, so you can buy a replacement
set if your tongues wear out.

reeds, and have a telescopic adjustment to allow for optimum tuning
for your drones. These do not require any playing-in time. Tongues
are replaceable, so you can buy a replacement set if your tongues
wear out. Not a stock item. Please allow 2-3 weeks for delivery.

Traditional
Cane Drone Reeds
(set of 1 bass and 2 tenor reeds)
BPR25 $25
Real cane reeds are considered to be the best sounding drone reeds
you can get. Unfortunately, they can be very unpredictable, especially
with weather, temperature, and humidity changes. If you play always
under predictable conditions, and you're willing to constantly tweek
and baby your reeds, then give them a try.
Tested and packaged in matched sets. Includes maintenance information.
Made in Scotland by McRostie. Not a stock item. Please allow 2-3
weeks for delivery.
